No, you haven't logged into BroncoMonthly.com by mistake.
True, it has only been three weeks since I reviewed the 2024 Ford Bronco Badlands, but this is a very different Bronco---an almost mythical model.
This is the Ford Bronco Everglades. In April of 2023, I reviewed a 2022 Bronco Everglades, and included the news that you couldn't order a new one at that point. Ford told me it had shut down production early to prepare for the new generation of Ranger pickup. When I wrote that, there were fewer than five (yes, five) on dealer lots across America.
Now that we're nearing the end of the 2024 model year, Ford's website says you are again unable to order a Bronco Everglades from the factory. But the good news this time is that there are more than 200 on dealer lots as of this writing (11:05 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time, Monday, August 5, 2024).
What do you get when you get a 2024 Ford Bronco Everglades? There's a 2.3-liter Ecoboost four-cylinder, making 300 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque. Zero to 60 in a bit better than 7.5 seconds. EPA fuel economy average 18 mpg combined.
Standard equipment includes 35-inch Goodyear Territory mud-terrain tires. There are raised vents for the front and rear axles, transfer case and transmission.
And then there's the conversation-starter. The snorkel.
The snorkel isn't just for water. It also gets air intake out of the way of things like dust and snow. It features two easy-to-swap plates that can reverse the direction of the intake depending on the conditions.
All this adds up to a Bronco that Ford says has a water-fording capability of 36.4 inches.
If you or someone around you does get stuck, the Bronco Everglades comes with a Warn winch as standard equipment. The winch has 100 feet of synthetic line and a 10,000 pound limit.
The removable doors and roof panels have optional storage bags that can fit in the cargo area.
And if the outdoors get inside when the top and doors are off, no problem. The Bronco Everglades' interior is made of standard marine-grade vinyl. The flooring is rubberized and has drain plugs, so you can literally hose it out.
The base price of the 2024 Ford Bronco Everglades is $57,615, including destination. Also standard at that price, full vehicle steel bash plates, fender tie-down hooks, auto-high beam LED headlamps, power exterior mirrors that fold manually, roof rails with cross bars, a 60/40 split-folding rear seat, pre-wired AUX switches, cruise control, smart charging USB ports, a tilt/telescoping steering column, a 12-inch color touchscreen, Ford's Advanced 4X4 system, terrain management with G.O.A.T modes, front stabilizer bar, hill start assist, pushbutton start, SiriusXM Satellite radio, 17-inch dark carbon gray wheels, a molded-in color hardtop with sound deadening headliner, and a one-year subscription to connected navigation.
The only extra-cost option on our tester was all-weather floor liners for $160, so the bottom line on the window sticker reads $57,775.
Coming in that far below $60k for this much capability in both sand and swamp is no small feat. If you want to spec one yourself, I'd suggest moving early in the 2025 model year. Otherwise, here's a link to what's on dealer lots now (enter your ZIP code for accurate distances).
